There's something a bit off about the back of her neck or maybe it's her shoulders... Other than that, i really love this. The colors are great, the shading is quite interesting & it really shows your talent through the peace. I wish I could have seen her face, I'm sure it would have looked amazing - drawn-wise anyways.
Lovely colours! It looks like her shoulders might not be wide enough, but that could be because of what she's wearing. The hair is really well done, especially considering how hard I find it to paint decent looking hair with watercolours^^
I really like the colors in this. The shading style isn't something that I've seen much of so I actually really like it. Her hair accessories looks like they were tedious to do since it seems rather detailed. Nice work.~
Well, there are quite a few differences between a Geisha and a Maiko besides just the collar color. Geisha don't wear so many kanzashi (The hair ornaments) in fact the hair is in a completely different style. There are a few variations considering the a few factors (Whether she has just had her erekie or if there is a certain festival going on), but generally the back of the hair style will look like this [link] the Obi is also not tied quite so high up on the back of a Geisha since it is tied lower. (The obi of a maiko is tied over her breasts, almost to the collar bone, while the obi of a geisha is tied like a normal obi around the mid section, this is to exude maturity and experience for geisha , and innocence and youth for Maiko) From your picture, I can actually tell that this would be a Maiko in her first year of training (It takes about 5 years of training for a Maiko to make her way to becoming a geisha.) that's because of the kanzashi that is dangling by her face ^^ Sorry, I'm quite interested in the Maiko and Geisha culture so I can go on about it forever. XD
